macProVideo.com: Cost-Effective Learning Tools

Macprovideo_logo by Tom Piper

Need a powerful Mac software tool to accomplish a project or improve your productivity, but have hesitated because the size of the manual scared you, or you didn’t know who to turn to when you had questions? Excellent video training tools are now available from a reliable company at very reasonable prices to help you learn quickly and effectively.

macProVideo.com specializes in a cool interface called the Nonlinear Educating Device (N.E.D. for short) which is a friendly tutorial video player that really improves the learning experience. Audiovisual teaching is taken serious by this company, starting with all of their instructions on their website which uses efficient QuickTime movies for ease of learning. N.E.D. features a revolutionary integrated download manager that incrementally and progressively downloads your tutorial videos. Start watching tutorials immediately while the rest download in the background. N.E.D. will scale to display video of any resolution. Currently, all macProVideo.com tutorials are 1024 X 768 pixels. That's high quality, High Definition video ... N.E.D. lets you see and hear how software works, with industry-leading quality!

Picture_3 Getting started is really easy . . . just pick your desired tutorial, click on download to add it to your list (below left), then click on the title to begin watching on the video (below right). This is not about “talking heads”, but rather high-quality screen examples with a strong reassuring voice fluidly cruising through each bit-sized segment . . . easy to review or jump ahead, as needed.

Picture_2 Professional tutors present informative videos for the Mac OS, GarageBand, iMovie, iDVD, Photoshop, Final Cut, Logic, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, Pro Tools, Aperture, Word, and many others, with new titles being added every month. A visit to www.macprovideo.com will provide a thorough explanation of this service with the ability to download N.E.D. for free, and even get free tutorials to try out. But, they don’t stop with the video, macProVideo.com extends their service further by providiing individual forums for each of their software series, allowing users to query tutors and exchange information with other users. This makes for a more complete learning experience.

I recently conducted a great interview with Martin Stiller, the owner, CEO and director of macProVideo.com (available at http://web.mac.com/ugab/). He explained in detail how meticulous his tutor selection process is and how careful they are about the production process. He is also an obvious supporter of  Mac user groups.with his offer to support user groups with free tutorials and assistance for our meetings. In addition, he is now offering a special discount (see below) on his already low retail prices ranging from $19.50 - $49.50 (custom bundles also have additional discounts of 15-25% based on number of tutorials ordered). And their videos are all fully downloadable, regardless of your Internet speed.

Based on what I’ve seen, heard and experienced, this is a quality company with excellent products, great prices and a true service attitude. They have earned my endorsement.

macProVideo.com: 30% Discount

macProVideo.com produces pro-level tutorial videos for Mac OS, Final Cut Pro, Logic, iApps, and other Mac software. Their trainers are Apple courseware authors and respected industry professionals! Download tutorials to your computer. There's no need to wait for discs to be sent in the mail. Start learning now! MUG members can save 30% off all tutorial-videos.

Audio Switch for Skype

Previewscreensnapz001 by: Bruce Heerboth, appleJAC Editor

I ran across this automator-style script that is so handy I just had to share.

I use the audio chat service Skype frequently, and there are times I would like to change from iSight and Speakers to headphones or bluetooth during the conversation. It can be done by opening the preferences of Skype and selecting the desired input and/or output. it is a somewhat slow and clunky process when you are trying to hold a conversation. Just not Mac-Like at all.

Well, Audio Switch for Skype fills the bill nicely. A relatively simple setup gives you hot keys that
make short work of the preference changes. Download and follow the instructions on their web site and you are quickly on your way to easier audio selection.

Get it on their website.

Add Album Art to Your Songs

Title FixTunes is an easy and powerful program that will add album artwork to your songs allowing you to enjoy your music collection that way it was meant to be seen.

Smarter That Other Programs

iTunes and other programs rely on correct information in your songs to find album art. FixTunes uses an online database of information on millions of songs to identify your music and download the correct artwork. Even if your song names have misspellings or missing info, FixTunes' intelligent database technology will find the matching artwork.

Try us out. Other programs won't find album art unless your songs already have the correct album listed. FixTunes just works.

Its Automatic - Typing Not Necessary

Who has time to drag and drop thousands of album pictures or to re-type hundreds of artist names? FixTunes is completely automated. It will automatically add album art to your songs while you sleep or play outside.

Have an iPhone or an iPod?

Than you really need FixTunes. FixTunes updates all songs and album art directly in iTunes - there are no extra steps for you. When FixTunes is finished updating your music, simply plug in and sync your iPhone or iPod and all the new album art is automatically transfered. Impress your friends or just feel cool browsing all your music by album picture while you are on the go.
