This has been a rainy week, lacking much Apple excitement (except for those who will really enjoy the “speed bump” that Apple applied to its MacBook Pro series). We are looking forward to having our next meeting at William Woods University in Columbia (see map on agenda below), which means we’ve had our last meeting at Lewis and Clark Middle School until September. We are also working on putting together a more reliable (and louder) sound system so our presenters can be better heard (and we encourage our meeting attendees to discontinue their talking during these sessions so everyone can hear).
At our last meeting, Steve Mays showed us his favorite gadget as a neat MacBook case that liked just like an older classic library book, and Joe Mertzlufft illustrated how Sudoku performed as his favorite iPhone app. I then struggled through a presentation of the new iPad with the help of several in attendance who also brought their iPads. Roman Griffith from Staples then made an extensive presentation about Printers and Printing, answering many questions about inks, toner, and his experience. Alice Kopp again provided another interesting perspective of jewels on our website. The evening’s door prize winners included:
- Apple retractable ID holder.......Tom Vaughn, Julie Koenigsfeld, Rosalind Moulton
- Apple bag.......Charlie Bland
- Apple ink pen........Gale Fuller, Aileen Garvin
- Apple keychain.......Bill Webb
Mark your calendar NOW for the next appleJAC Macintosh Users Group meeting on the first Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 7:00 pm. Bring family, friends and new members back to William Woods University just off Highway 63 in Columbia to get the most out of your Mac and Apple products.
