This next month's great meeting topics is "Mistakes to Avoid". The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm, April 4, 2017, in Kennedy Hall at IC School, 1208 E. McCarty St., Jefferson City. Please bring your friends who are Mac or iOS users to our meetings.
For me, this has been a busy time of year, between going to weddings and doing Spring yard care. I have helped my son buy a car, changed locks on a few apartment doors, and built my wife raised beds to grow fresh veggies. I did sneak in a few flights with my quadcopter, but not near as much as I like. Most years by now, I have un-winterized the boat, but this year all I have managed time for is cleaning out the dock locker.
At our May meeting, we were able to see the creative work from our members with the Apple Video Contest Results. Congratulations to Shubha Miller for "Best Use of Stills", Dan Walsh for "Best Motion”, and Janet Gallaher for "Best Edit". Each won a $15 iTunes Gift Card for their entertaining efforts. Thanks also to other submissions which were also fun to watch.
Donna Deitz shared information about her business "Click to Sell” telling us about the ins-and-outs of using eBay for national buying and selling. Tom Piper shared some of the details you need to know when using CraigsList for local buying and selling.
The following people won door prizes at the May meeting:
Paul VanHorn - iTunes Card
Julie Smith - Flashlight Bonnie Culley - T-Shirt
Dan Walsh- Water Bottle
Carol Van Vranken- Book
Shubha Miller- Reusable Bag Joe Mertzlufft - Nerf Football
Our upcoming June 7, 2016, meeting is the Annual appleJAC Picnic (see agenda below) with directions and map. I am looking forward to seeing members, families and friends at this event to be held at the Cole County Park Pavilion, 4301 County Park Rd in Jefferson City. A month later, we are planning a program featuring “Scanners: Flat-top, Feeder, Portable, iPhone" for July 5.
You should have received an email with instructions to RSVP, and tell us the side dish you are bringing. We start the Picnic at 6:00PM with limited parking near the shelter, so arrive early, if you need that. I encourage those that can to drop off your stuff first, then park on the lower lot to allow room for those needing the spaces on the top of the hill.
If there is something you would like to share with the group at any of our meetings, we would be happy to give you 20-30 minutes to show off how you use your Apple device. New information is always welcome from all members.
