Apotop DW09: Wi-Fi iDevice Storage

If you’re like me, you can always use more storage on your iPhone and iPad, but are frustrated because the memory size is locked in at purchase. It would be so nice to view pictures, movies and documents from your camera or computer without transferring them via Internet, email, iTunes or otherwise. At Macworld/iWorld 2013, I found a great solution.

With the Apotop DW09 Wi-Reader/Router, I can access SD cards and USB flash drives to create units of personal cloud storage for my Apple iPads and iPhone. Now I can share videos, music, pictures, and documents with up to three devices, including my iPads, iPhones, or iPod touches, all at the same time.

With the multi-functional free Wi-Reader App that I download once from iTunes, I can now easily browse, download, or upload files between SD card, USB flash drive and iOS devices. I can also change the SSID of the Wi-Reader and set a password for secure sharing of documents through its 802.11n/g/b wireless networking. With its rechargeable battery, this unit will share files wirelessly up to 3 hours at up to 150 Mbps data transfer rate.

As if that is not enough, I also can use the Apotop DW09 as a wireless router, which can quickly create a wireless “Wi-fi hotspot” environment through internet cable at a hotel room, office or home. This way, iPads, iPhones, smart phones, tablets and laptops can connect to the internet at the same time. Using a wonderfully compact design, this makes it ideal for use during the travel. With the included USB cable, I charge the battery through the mini-USB port connected to my computer or USB power block. It is easy to setup with well-labelled indicator lights for power (green ON), media (green when SD card or flash drive available), Wi-fi signal (flashing blue when available), and battery (red when charging or low).

All in all, this is a small, easy-to-use, powerful and resourceful storage sharing device. It functions well, and is useful on-the-go since it communicates directly with iDevices, not requiring a local Wi-fi, or internet connection. I endorse this as a valuable and versatile expansion of your iPad and iPhones memory.

Apotop AP-U2: Stylish Flash Drive

The MacBook Air has a very nice right-angle rounded powerplug that fits snugly to the case. With such a trim fit, it would be nice to have other accessories that fit the same way. At Macworld/iWorld 2013, I found another great solution.
