President’s Place

What a beautiful day we had for the Annual appleJAC Picnic. Tom reserved the Pavilion, and brought serving tables. Mark and George did a great job breaking in what looked like a new grill at the Cole County Park Pavilion. We had a fair turnout and lots of good food and stories to share. Julie captured some great pictures that we will share on our website.
It seems like summer started early with high temperatures for the last couple weeks, even before the summer solstice. Since it has been dry, I have not had to cut grass all that much, but instead have had a chance to play in our lake and finish other long-overdue projects around the house.
The World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) had a number of new announcements (mostly about the updated macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS operating systems to be released this Fall, which we believe is September) that I am sure will be meeting topics as they are released. We will share the announcements at the July meeting, but wait for the Fall when the product is actually available to show demos.
Our upcoming July 5, 2016, meeting is about Scanners: Flat-Top, Feeder, Portable, iPhone (see agenda below) to be held at Kennedy Hall @ IC School, 1208 E. McCarty St, Jefferson City. We were going to talk about types of scanners plus scanning apps and techniques. Tom will demo a few portable scanners before the break, then George and I will tell you about a few other ways to get your information on your computer or iOS device.
If there is something you would like to share with the group at any of our meetings, we would be happy to give you plenty of time to show off how you use your Apple device. New information is always welcome from all members.
